Project

Wat Ananda Metyarama

As the oldest Thai Buddhist temple in Singapore, the architecture of Wat Ananda might be a bit unexpected. This is entirely intentional, as the architectural brief challenged the architects to reinterpret traditional Thai Buddhist style temples. The resulting design was inspired by the Bodhi Tree under which Siddhartha meditated, with triangular opening that allow for light to filter into the temple depending on the time of day.
