The Hive at NTU is a progressive architectural masterpiece that frequently tops architectural design lists for innovative and creative design. Showcasing the NTU’s new approach towards collaborative and interactive learning styles, the unique design cultivates an open environment for students to collaborate and build a sense of community. The lighting design was of key importance, as the usage of light creates different ambiance for different spaces. Certain areas of the building utilise warm lighting for a more relaxed ambiance, while other areas utilise brighter lighting to ensure focus and visual clarity for work and study. The facade of the building is accentuated with a lighting design scheme that showcases the circularity of each of the building parts.
